Job summary

Fidelity is seeking a Senior Mainframe Operating Systems Engineer to own the enterprise z/OS environment. You will lead upgrades, modernization, and automation initiatives while collaborating with infrastructure, development, architecture, and vendor teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of IBM z/OS, SMP/E, and mainframe tooling, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance in a large enterprise setting. This is a senior, collaborative, on-site position at Fidelity.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years hands-on experience supporting IBM z/OS in a systems programming or OS engineering role.
• Experience administering and supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.
• 5+ years installing, upgrading, maintaining IBM/ISV software with SMP/E.
• Experience with Parallel Sysplex, CFs, high-availability mainframe architectures.
• Familiarity with mainframe tooling and modern DevOps concepts.

Responsibilities

• Stability, availability, security, and performance of Fidelity's enterprise z/OS environment.
• Lead OS upgrades, maintenance, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Automate operations using JCL, REXX, Python, Ansible, and platform tools.
• Provide production support, incident and problem management, and root cause analysis.
