Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to lead and modernize z/OS environments. The role focuses on standardizing upgrades, automations, and maintenance across enterprise mainframe platforms, delivering reliable service.

You will guide teams, develop documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to minimize business impact during OS upgrades. Remote work options and senior-scale responsibilities are available in this strategic role.

Qualifications

Proven experience in z/OS upgrades and mass maintenance deployment.
Experience installing IBM/ISV software on mainframe environments.
Depth of knowledge in JES2, HCD/IODF, SMP/E, WLM, OMVS/USS, SMF/RMF, ASM, GRS, SDSF, TSO and RACF.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentorship on z/OS upgrades.
Design standardized upgrade and mass maintenance approaches for repeatable outcomes.
Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM and ISV software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan OS upgrades with minimal business impact.
Develop technical documentation and templates for OS rollouts.
Drive adoption of new technologies to support strategic objectives.
Act as SME for mainframe projects and governance.
Provide advanced troubleshooting beyond Level 1 and participate in after-hours support.
