Job summary

CVS Health in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 DBA to support and optimize Db2 for z/OS and IDMS in enterprise environments. You will lead performance tuning, automation initiatives, and 24x7 production support, collaborating with development, infrastructure, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Db2 for z/OS experience, strong SQL tuning, JCL skills, and experience with mainframe utilities.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience.
3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities.
3+ years of advanced SQL tuning, access path analysis, and index management in Db2 z/OS.
3+ years of JCL development and 24x7 production on-call support in large mainframe environments.
1+ year designing, implementing, or supporting database replication in complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments.
Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, index recommendations, and RUNSTATS/REORG.
Develop automation to improve database administration processes and legacy support.
Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
Support Db2 Function Level upgrades, version migrations, and database utilities.
Respond to database requests, changes, audits, and incidents in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Provide technical consultation to development, infrastructure, and application teams.
