Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer – CICS to provide premium support for CICS TS on z/OS, including OEM products. The role requires strong CICS expertise, SMP/E experience, and the ability to work across time zones in a 24/7 environment.

You will install, tailor, monitor, and upgrade software while assisting migrations and disaster recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate has 5+ years on the zSeries platform, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on experience with CICS TS and OEM product support.
• Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS and related OEM products and their installation/tailoring.
• Thorough working knowledge of IBM SMP/E usage.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Experience with monitoring tools for CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill CSOs for mainframe z/OS customers related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide primary support for reported CICS TS issues.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM products efficiently and per Ensono standards.
• Assist in preparing customer partitions for annual OS upgrades.
• Support customer migrations for CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist project managers with migrations for new customers.
• Coordinate disaster recovery tasks with DR services.
• Adhere to a schedule to enable timely implementations.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures.
• Implement fixes and upgrades to z/OS products.
