Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide premium support for z/OS environments, focusing on CICS TS and related OEM software products. The role involves installation, testing, and maintenance of system software, 24x7 support across multiple time zones, and collaboration on OS upgrade activities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mainframe experience, strong CICS TS expertise, and IBM SMP/E proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on experience related to CICS TS / WAS and OEM product support.
• Thorough knowledge of CICS TS and installation/tailoring, and CICS TS related OEM products.
• Thorough knowledge and experience with IBM’s SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Experience with monitoring performance of CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines and high pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customer service orders for mainframe z/OS customers relating to CICS TS and OEM software.
• Provide primary support for reported problems related to CICS TS / WAS and OEM products.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per Ensono standards.
• Collaborate with other towers to prepare partitions for annual OS upgrades.
• Support customer migration services for CICS TS and related OEM products.
• Assist project managers in migrating newly acquired customers without hindering progress.
• Execute disaster recovery tasks with Disaster Recovery Services.
• Adhere to schedules to efficiently manage resources and enable timely implementations.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures and apply vendor product fixes and upgrades.
