Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for LV switchgear in Prince George, Virginia. You will act as the senior technical authority for mechanical architecture, design governance, validation strategy, and lifecycle support across programs.

Collaborate with customers, global teams, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality to ensure safety, reliability, and cost targets are met. The role requires 12+ years in mechanical engineering with LV switchgear experience, advanced CAD

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in LV switchgear/power distribution.
Senior technical leadership across multiple programs and product platforms.
Advanced CAD proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Own and govern mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
Translate requirements into scalable specifications, roadmaps, and deliverables.
Lead system-level architecture decisions for enclosure, busbar, insulation, and safety features.
Provide technical direction for thermal engineering activities and validation testing.
Guide design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and serviceability initiatives.
