Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, Virginia seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear to own the electrical design from concept to production release. You will lead design reviews, validate protection schemes and coordinate with global teams to meet cost, quality, and schedule goals.

The role requires 10+ years in LV switchgear, strong standards knowledge and proficiency with EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical, Windchill, and IEC 61850 communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering with LV switchgear experience.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on multiple NPI programs.
• Expert knowledge of UL 891/1558/508A/845, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, ANSI/IEEE.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, protection relays, MCCs.
• Experience with IEC 61850 and Modbus communications.
• Proficiency with EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical; PLM like Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear, including protection, control, metering and monitoring.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
• Lead design verification, prototype builds, pilot production and production release activities.
• Drive DFM, DFT, DFR and VAVE initiatives to optimize cost and quality.
• Support manufacturing readiness reviews and ramp-in activities globally.
• Interface with customers during design reviews and issue resolution.
• Lead risk reviews, root-cause investigations and continuous improvement.
