Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear in Prince George, VA. You will own the electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear, including protection, control, metering, and communications systems, translating customer requirements into engineering specifications.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering (5+ in LV switchgear) with strong knowledge of UL/NEC/IEEE standards and experience with IEC 61850, Modbus, and power distribution systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• 10+ years in electrical engineering with 5+ years in LV switchgear/power distribution.
• Leadership on multiple NPI programs and product launches.
• Strong knowledge of UL/NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards for LV switchgear.
• Experience with IEC 61850 and Modbus communications.
• Experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with PLM systems (Windchill).
• Familiarity with NRTL certifications and OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear, including protection, control, metering, and communications systems.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specs and deliverables.
• Lead validation of protection philosophies, relay settings, arc-flash mitigation, and studies.
• Lead design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp support.
• Interface with customers during design reviews and issue resolution.
• Drive DFM, DFT, DFR and VAVE initiatives.
• Oversee electrical validation, testing, and certifications.
• Collaborate with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality.
