Job summary

EC Electric, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating for low voltage systems in a high-volume environment.

You will drive complete, accurate proposals, establish bid strategies, coordinate with vendors, and manage risk to win competitive bids. Responsibilities include leading RFP responses, reviewing plans for scope and risk, developing estimates and schedules, and performing quality control on pricing and narratives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading low voltage estimates valued at more than $2 million.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for quantity takeoffs and with ConEst or comparable software.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
• Strong understanding of labor units, crew composition, productivity factors, and construction means and methods.
• Strong grasp of RFP compliance, scope development, and change-order pricing.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complete, accurate responses to RFPs.
• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and codes to define scope and risk.
• Identify conflicts and gaps; coordinate clarifications and practical solutions.
• Develop estimate plans, bid schedules, and closeout requirements.
• Prepare takeoffs using Bluebeam and estimating software.
• Summarize takeoffs into bid units aligned with RFPs.
• Develop and validate labor, subcontract, and material costs.
• Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors; level quotations for risk.
• Prepare conceptual estimates, budgets, and detailed change orders.
• Lead estimate kickoff, progress reviews, and bid-close meetings.
• Quality-control reviews of takeoffs, pricing, and proposals.
• Develop pricing strategies to improve competitiveness and reduce risk.
• Lead estimating process and communicate scope, risks, and decisions.
• Mentor estimators and maintain cost databases and benchmarks.
• Maintain estimating standards and templates for accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor codes and industry practices; update estimating impacts.
