Job summary

EC Electric, Inc. is seeking a Design-Build Preconstruction Manager to lead electrical preconstruction and design-build efforts. You will drive budgets, pricing strategies, and ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and client objectives across multiple market sectors.

You will mentor estimators, coordinate with design teams and operations, and guide a team of 2–6 professionals while supporting business development and competitive RFQs/RFPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible electrical estimating, preconstruction, design management, project management, or field experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• Proven leadership of large design-build or design-assist pursuits and client relationship development.
• Experience with Viewpoint software is preferred.
• Comfortable managing a team of 2–6 people.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex design-build and preconstruction efforts from pursuit through project handoff, aligning scope, budget, schedule, and client objectives.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to estimators and project teams while driving accountability, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with clients, design teams, operations, subcontractors, and business development partners to achieve outcomes.
• Lead estimating processes (design-build, GMP, conceptual), developing budgets, cost models, and pricing strategies.
• Manage cost, risk, value engineering, constructability reviews, procurement planning, and cost reconciliation.
• Ensure seamless transition from preconstruction to operations with documented assumptions, risks, and commitments.
• Develop and oversee complete, accurate estimates, proposals, budgets, and submissions.
