Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior tooling and GSE engineer to translate design requirements into effective tooling and production systems for lunar hardware. Work with design, manufacturing, technicians, and quality teams to develop innovative tooling concepts and robust GSE solutions.

You will lead design for manufacturability, perform producibility assessments, and contribute to documentation, validation, and continuous improvement across the tooling lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent in a technical discipline with 10+ years in tooling design, GSE, or manufacturing engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing toolings, fixtures, and GSE for mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, GD&T, manufacturability and documentation control.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and GSE for aerospace hardware with modular, usable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new build processes and tooling concepts.
• Support builds of demonstrators and prototypes, provide hands-on fabrication and assembly support.
• Apply DFX, perform producibility assessments, and develop roadmaps to bridge gaps.
• Develop, release, and maintain engineering docs including CAD models and specs.
• Support tooling fabrication, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
