Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to perform system-level transient thermal analyses for lunar landers using Thermal Desktop and SINDA, across various space environments. The role emphasizes collaboration within a team of engineers to validate models and ensure safe, reliable thermal performance of lunar vehicles.

The ideal candidate has a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with strong thermal analysis skills and experience with Thermal Desktop and SINDA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 8 year relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience
• Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals
• Demonstrated thermal analysis skills
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Demonstrated experience with Thermal Desktop and SINDA
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level transient thermal analysis of lunar landers in ground, launch, Earth orbit, cis-lunar space, lunar orbit, and lunar surface environments using Thermal Desktop.
• Capture system inputs and perform system-level trade studies.
• Predict temperature and heat transfer and document results.
• Contribute to a team of Thermal Engineers and Analysts developing lunar vehicles.
