Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to define and develop spacecraft thermal control systems for lunar landers in the Lunar Permanence unit. You will act as Responsible Engineer for thermal components from conception through testing and integration.

You will work with NASA and National Team Partners, contributing to hardware verification and design validation. Proficiency with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint is valued as you help drive make-or-buy decisions and ensure safety and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of Thermal Engineering experience in spacecraft design.
• Understanding of thermal fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience building or testing hardware.
• Understanding aerospace hardware verification and validation processes.
• Ability to earn trust and work with teams.
• Exposure to Thermal Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Act as Responsible Engineer for thermal components from conception through development, testing, and integration.
• Support internal or external development of thermal components.
• Collaborate with the thermal analysis group within the Lunar Thermal IPT.
• Work with subsystem specs, mission environments, and design/construction standards.
• Produce specifications, test plans, reports, and test outputs.
• Perform occasional thermal analysis.
• Support make-or-buy decisions for thermal components.
