Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to support lunar lander programs within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will perform system-level transient thermal analyses for lunar environments, using Thermal Desktop and SINDA, and collaborate with a team to deliver reliable thermal solutions for safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications include a BS (MS preferred) in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 8–10 years in thermal engineering, and programming familiarity (Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab).

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• 8 years of Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience required.
• Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals and demonstrated thermal analysis skills.
• Experience with Thermal Desktop and SINDA required.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. (permanent resident or asylum/refuge status) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level transient thermal analysis of lunar landers using Thermal Desktop.
• Capture system inputs and conduct trade studies for thermal design.
• Predict temperatures and heat transfer; document results and recommendations.
• Collaborate with a team of Thermal Engineers and Analysts to advance lunar vehicles.
