Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Pumps Manufacturing Engineering team. You will lead development and optimization of manufacturing processes for internal pump components and assemblies used in lunar missions and space exploration.

The role bridges design engineering and production, driving DFM, creating detailed work instructions, process validation, and continuous improvement while ensuring AS9100 quality and readiness for production.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably with rotating equipment or fluid systems.
5+ years creating detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
Experience with precision manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, testing).
U.S. citizen or eligible status to work in the U.S.
Willingness to work second shift and extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

Lead industrialization of pump designs from development through production readiness.
Develop detailed work instructions, process flows, tooling specs, and inspection plans for pump fabrication.
Collaborate with design to optimize pump designs for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
Provide technical troubleshooting and process optimization support to production teams.
