Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems on the Space Coast, FL. You will work with cross-functional teams to minimize costs, improve timelines, and ensure high-quality aerospace production standards.

The role focuses on DFx (DFM/DFA/DFT), process documentation, and evaluating new technologies such as composites and precision machining to scale production for space vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or legally allowed to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work second shift and flexible for shift changes.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products (solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, structures).
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, QA, supply chain, and production to accelerate space vehicle build.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing docs: work instructions, flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing).
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
