Job summary

RTX, a leader in stealth technology, seeks a Materials Lead for an on-site Tucson role. You will develop materials, characterize properties, and integrate into product lines, performing measurements and RF property predictions using CEM tools.

You will mentor early career engineers, lead IPTs, manage projects, and interface with customers and suppliers. A STEM degree with 7–10+ years experience and a current DoD security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
• Experience in Low Observables or Radar materials.
• Experience in material characterization, performance testing/prediction, and integration on air vehicles.
• Experience with customer and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Material and process development, characterization and system level integration across Raytheon product lines.
• Material performance predictions and measurement tests for development and production systems.
• Perform material measurements of constitutive and RF attenuation properties; generate predictions using Computational Electromagnetic Codes (CEM).
• Work in Integrated Product Teams to incorporate signature control techniques into deliverables and assess system performance.
• Material formulation and development; fabrication process development; composites operations support.
• Material testing and characterization (RF, mechanical, physical); preparation of engineering documentation.
• Customer and supplier interface; participation in program reviews; project management; mentoring of engineers.
