Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a materials-focused engineer for onsite roles in Tucson, AZ. You will lead material development, characterization, and integration across product lines, working with cross-functional teams on advanced signature control techniques.

Qualifications include a STEM degree with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, plus LO/Radar materials experience. This role emphasizes collaboration with customers and suppliers and mentorship of junior engineers.

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years experience.
Experience in Low Observables or Radar materials.
Experience in material characterization, testing/prediction, and integration on air vehicle.
Experience with customer and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

Material and process development and integration across Raytheon product lines and new business.
Material performance predictions and measurement tests of developmental and production systems.
Measure constitutive and RF attenuation properties and predict performance using Computational Electromagnetic Codes (CEM) tools.
Work with Integrated Product Teams to apply signature control techniques to deliverable products.
Material formulation and development; fabrication process development.
Composites operations support; material testing and characterization (RF, mechanical, physical).
Prepare engineering documentation and interface with customers and suppliers.
Participate in/lead program reviews and project management.
Mentor early career engineers; own tasks as Materials Lead on IPTs.
