Job summary

Mirai Bio is seeking a Senior Research Associate, LNP Production to advance lipid nanoparticle formulations for nucleic acid therapeutics. This hands-on role requires strong expertise in LNP production, process development, and cross-functional collaboration across programs.

You will design, produce, and optimize LNPs for preclinical research, operate multi-scale processes, and meticulously document results to support rapid, high-quality delivery of genetic medicines.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in chemical/biochemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biology, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with lipid nanoparticle formulation and production.
• Familiarity with LNP processing techniques and equipment across scales (mixers, pumps, TFF).
• Knowledge of analytical techniques for LNPs (size, polydispersity, encapsulation).
• Ability to independently execute experiments, troubleshoot, and drive projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, formulate, produce, and characterize LNPs for preclinical research.
• Scale LNP production from small to larger scales.
• Operate and develop LNP manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process challenges.
• Collaborate with scientists to design experiments and interpret results.
• Develop robust, reproducible LNP workflows.
• Maintain thorough records of procedures and results.
• Communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
• Support a culture of scientific rigor and operational excellence.
