Job summary

Mirai Bio, a Flagship-founded biotechnology company in Cambridge, MA, seeks a Senior Director of Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) Formulation & Process Development to lead formulation, process development, and small-scale production for partner and internal programs.

The role combines scientific leadership with program management, guiding development strategies and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality LNP products for diverse nucleic acid payloads, including mRNA and gene-editing

Qualifications

PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 12+ years industry experience; MS with 14+ or BS with 16+ years accepted.
Extensive hands-on experience in LNP formulation and process development.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical programs and teams.
Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead LNP formulation, process development, and small-scale production for multiple programs.
Set technical strategy and best practices for formulation, development, and production across payloads.
Provide senior technical leadership, experimental planning, data review, and risk mitigation.
Interface with clients and partners; support proposals, scopes, and business development.
Oversee non-GMP production of LNP formulations for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Drive process optimization, technology transfer, and continuous improvement.
Mentor the LNP team and align work with program objectives.
