Job summary

AbbVie in Worcester, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist I to lead novel lipid nanoparticle formulation and process development. This hands-on role requires independent technical leadership in a wet-lab setting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor junior scientists, design experiments (DOE), and drive data-driven decisions to advance tLNP drug product programs, while ensuring SOP-compliant documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires advanced education with leadership in formulation, drug product, or process development.
• Experience leading projects from concept through execution and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong expertise in LNP formulation development and nanoparticle characterization.

Responsibilities

• Independently propose, design, lead, and manage novel technical projects focused on LNP formulation and process development.
• Serve as a technical lead for complex formulation and process development activities with project plans, timelines, and data-driven recommendations.
• Lead DOE-based experiments to optimize LNP formulations and manufacturing processes.
• Provide mentorship to junior scientists and guide experimental design and data analysis.
• Drive root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Represent projects in cross-functional teams and communicate strategies to stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and SOPs with clear documentation.
