Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is hiring a Medication Technician to support resident care and ensure accurate medication administration in our Ames location. You will follow physician orders, adhere to the Six rights of medication administration, and use the eMAR system to document care.

Qualifications include an active Medication Technician Certification (or 1+ year senior care experience), a valid Medication Manager Certificate, CPR/First Aid, and a HS diploma.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in senior care.
• Must have an approved Medication Manager Certificate from the Department of Inspection and Appeals
• High School Diploma or GED
• Willing to take additional training or education as states may require.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure medications are given per physician orders.
• Follow the Six rights of medication administration and Bickford policies.
• Utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification regarding resident medication and care.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise non-licensed team members as appropriate.
• Demonstrate Bickford Mission 'Whatever it Takes' on shift.
