Job summary

Sentry is seeking a Claims Representative Specialist to join the PL – Litigation team in Davenport, IA. You will investigate, evaluate, and settle or deny litigated claims, verify coverages, and manage complex evidence to drive outcomes.

We expect 5+ years of related experience, advanced writing and negotiation skills, and the ability to handle policy terms, medical reports, and regulations with precision. Collaborative mentorship and strong regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Extensive claims knowledge with ability to manage litigated claims.
• Ability to review complex documents, policies, medical reports, and regulations.
• Ability to make claims decisions, prioritize, and manage workload.
• Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Technology aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve litigated claims efficiently and accurately.
• Verify coverages by reviewing policy terms and working with counsel as needed.
• Evaluate liability via statements, reports, photos, and evidence.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Document decisions and discussions throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Mentor associates to share knowledge and grow skills.
