Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative Specialist for our PL - Litigation team. You will investigate, evaluate, and settle or deny litigated claims, verify coverages, and assess liability by reviewing statements, police reports, and evidence.

You will negotiate settlements within authority and document all actions thoroughly. You will mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of accuracy, compliance, and continuous learning, while supporting hybrid work arrangements and a strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related work experience in claims or litigation.
• Extensive knowledge of claims handling and litigated claims.
• Ability to review complex documents, policies, and medical reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication; skilled negotiator.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle or deny litigated claims promptly.
• Verify coverages by examining policy terms and language with potential coordination with coverage counsel.
• Take statements, review police reports, accident photos, and other evidence to assess liability.
• Negotiate settlements within authorized limits with claimants or counsel.
• Document all decisions and communications thoroughly and mentor colleagues to share knowledge.
