Job summary

Keeper Security is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our Privileged Access Management team and help build secure endpoint privilege management for Linux environments. This is a 100% remote role with potential hybrid work for candidates near Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA.

You will design and implement security-sensitive Linux components across Rust, C and .NET, focusing on privileged execution, process identity and secure failure behavior close to the OS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software or systems engineering with Linux
• Deep understanding of Linux process and security concepts
• Strong C programming experience on native Linux development
• Experience with Linux PAM or PAM configuration
• Strong Rust experience with asynchronous development
• Working proficiency with C# and .NET on Linux
• Familiarity with Linux service management (systemd, journalctl) and packaging
• Ability to read kernel docs and translate behavior into secure prod implementations
• Willingness to use AI-assisted tools for debugging and documentation
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Linux endpoint privilege management capabilities
• Build kernel-facing agent functionality using Linux interfaces
• Develop native PAM modules and privilege-elevation workflows
• Create long-running privileged Linux services using Rust, Tokio and TLS
• Work with .NET 8 on Linux for orchestration and session management
• Troubleshoot Linux execution and security issues; analyze logs and traces
• Ensure least-privilege enforcement and TOCTOU protection
• Package and deploy via systemd units and RPM/DEB packaging
• Collaborate with PAM, endpoint, QA and platform engineers
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for research, debugging and documentation
