Vultr is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to manage enterprise Linux environments and lead critical infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes automation, security, and high-availability operations across a global cloud platform.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Linux, scripting, virtualization, and containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Libvirt) and will mentor junior engineers while coordinating across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience administering enterprise Linux environments (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, or similar).
• Advanced knowledge of Linux system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages used for automation and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train junior system administrators and engineers to develop expertise and best practices.
• Lead technical projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timely delivery.
• Manage incident response for escalated issues with clear communication to stakeholders.
• Perform setup, configuration, and ongoing management of internal infrastructure VMs and services.
• Plan, stage, and deploy platform upgrades and updates across the server fleet.
