Job summary
Vultr seeks a Senior Linux Administrator to support our global customer base and drive infrastructure reliability across multiple data centers. You will mentor engineers, lead projects from planning to delivery, and manage incident response for escalated issues.
You will configure and maintain VM infrastructure, upgrade platforms, deploy nodes, and troubleshoot complex platform problems. Strong scripting, networking, and storage experience are essential to succeed at Vultr.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in enterprise Linux environments.
- Proficient in Bash or Python for automation.
- Experience with Kubernetes and virtualization.
- Networking and DNS knowledge.
- Experience with Ceph or distributed storage.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and train junior system administrators.
- Lead technical projects from planning through implementation.
- Manage incident response for escalated issues.
- Set up and manage internal VM infrastructure and services.
- Plan and deploy platform upgrades across servers.
- Provision and configure software on new nodes.
- Troubleshoot complex platform and customer issues.
- Install and configure servers with OS, software, services.
