Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure for a global customer base. You will work across systems, applications, and networking layers to keep environments secure and reliable while supporting platform expansion.

The role involves collaborating with engineering and data center teams, applying advanced Linux expertise, and contributing to scalable solutions in a high-growth cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux administration on CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash/Python).
• Experience with virtualization and networking in data-centre environments.
• Knowledge of web servers, databases, firewalls, and security hardening.
• Familiarity with distributed storage (Ceph) and load balancing.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades and infrastructure changes.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services, diagnosing issues and improving reliability.
• Serve as escalation point for Linux-related problems and remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering/ops for data center deployments and readiness.
• Perform migrations, evaluate dependencies and risks for projects.
• Monitor performance and security posture; ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop automation and tooling to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Document systems, diagrams, and operational standards for scaling.
