Job summary

RTX seeks a seasoned systems engineer to design, deploy, and harden Linux environments on-site at our MA location. You will implement security baselines, automate configuration with Ansible and related tools, and support complex systems across Linux and Windows infrastructures.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of hands-on experience, plus eligibility for an Interim Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and minimum 8 years of experience
• Hands-on experience with RHEL administration
• Background in OS hardening, security baselines, and compliance frameworks (STIGs, CIS Benchmarks)

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain RHEL-based systems in production and development environments.
• Implement OS hardening standards and security controls across Linux systems.
• Develop and maintain automated configuration workflows using Ansible or other IaC/CM tools.
• Write and maintain scripts to support system configuration, monitoring, and operational tasks.
• Apply systems engineering principles to requirements analysis, design documentation, verification, and lifecycle support.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux/Windows hosts, networks, infrastructure services, and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in technical reviews, architecture discussions, and design planning.
