Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator for the Infrastructure Workplace Services team, onsite in Andover, MA. The role requires on-site presence with potential relocation and occasional travel up to 10% to other US locations.

You will manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure compliance and robust system performance. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree with related experience; 5–8 years depending on degree.
• Advanced experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Experience mentoring individuals and teams.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8140/8570 certification (e.g., Security+ CE) within a reasonable timeframe.
• Ability to obtain Interim U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure for reliable and secure IT operations.
• Act as a senior resource to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assigned IT systems and applications.
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance and provide documentation, training, and guidance on IT processes.
• Mentor and guide junior administrators on maintenance, tasks, account management, and performance tuning.
• Lead and contribute to technical meetings with internal teams and program stakeholders.
