Job summary

OMNIVISION is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to sustain and advance our on-premises Linux server and VDI environments. You will architect, implement, and automate operations, ensure security, and support EDA compute workloads including IBM LSF scheduling.

You will lead automation, remediation, and documentation efforts, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and scalability of critical infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer; senior candidates 10+ years.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (RedHat/Ubuntu) and RedHat Satellite.
• Patching and vulnerability management on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee system projects, automate manual processes with scripts, and document systems.
• Lead admin, maintenance, and support of Linux server and VDI infrastructure for performance and scalability.
• Design, implement, and optimize automation with Ansible AWX for provisioning and orchestration.
• Administer EDA compute environments and IBM LSF scheduler including queue/resource management.
• Act as escalation point for complex issues; perform root-cause analysis and knowledge management.
• Coordinate changes, upgrades, patches, and firmware updates with minimal disruption.
• Provide on-call support and vendor coordination; drive continuous improvement.
