Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group is seeking a Sr. Construction Management Professional for our Cary, North Carolina office. You will lead development of project execution plans, manage risk, and coordinate with engineering teams to deliver complex life science facilities.

The role requires 10+ years of construction project leadership, strong knowledge of MEP systems, and experience with preconstruction and design phases. Travel up to 75% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities.
• Strong working knowledge of design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relation building.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, architectural systems, clean room construction and general building construction & maintenance.
• Proven experience in Project or Group Leadership role during preconstruction; self-starter who identifies issues and path to solution.
• Experience in responding to RFPs, supporting Client interviews and presentations.
• Utilize the preconstruction role to drive internal and external business development opportunities.
• Experience supporting design teams during all phases of design while driving a construction lead approach through scheduling and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the project execution plan and strategies, including advance work planning and alignment with engineering teams.
• Lead risk identification and mitigation strategy development.
• Support subcontractor engagement, bid package development, proposal evaluations, and pre-award alignment.
• Ability to travel to support project and client needs during planning, design, procurement, and construction phases (up to 75% travel).
