Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Manager, Life & Disability Claims to lead the Long Term Disability claims team and drive client service and risk management.

The role combines in-office collaboration with a hybrid schedule, requiring presence at least 2 days per week to foster teamwork and quality outcomes. You will hire, train, and motivate staff, ensure regulatory compliance, analyze metrics, and partner with clients and internal teams to improve processes and profitability while advancing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years progressively responsible disability claims experience.
• Ability to train and motivate employees.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and local disability regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, hire, train, retain and motivate a team of claims professionals.
• Ensure operations are compliant with federal and state requirements.
• Develop and communicate strategies for efficiency and client relationships.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on profitability of client blocks.
• Track trends with operational metrics and adjust tactics accordingly.
• Support policy development and systems improvements.
