Job summary

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Public Service Operations Manager. This full-time role provides system-wide leadership and oversight of public service operations across locations, ensuring high-quality, equitable, and innovative library services for the community.

Responsibilities include supervising Public Service Managers, guiding day-to-day operations, shaping policies, monitoring data, and assisting with budgets.

Qualifications

• MLIS from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• Significant managerial experience in a public library setting is required.
• Knowledge of public library operations across circulation, reference, and programming areas.
• Experience managing budgets and personnel across multiple teams or locations.
• Proficiency with library technology and standard office software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• Experience overseeing multi-location library operations preferred.
• History of leading system-wide initiatives or strategic planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Public Service Managers and staff with leadership, coaching, and professional development.
• Serve as escalation point for complex customer concerns and operational challenges.
• Monitor day-to-day public service operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Lead implementation of policies and procedures across all locations.
• Review data, feedback, and trends to identify needs and opportunities.
• Foster collaboration across departments and locations to meet organizational goals.
• Assist in development and management of public service budgets.
