Job summary

Travelers is seeking a claims adjuster to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve Specialty Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. You will provide quality claim handling throughout the lifecycle, including consulting with field partners and managing resources as needed.

This role includes a sign-on bonus and requires strong knowledge of coverage, contract interpretation, and litigation management, with a focus on timely, fair resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Extensive claim and/or legal experience and technical expertise to evaluate severe and complex claims.
• Able to make independent decisions on most assigned cases.
• Thorough understanding of policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and effective claims handling practices.
• License(s) may be required within three months of starting the job.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severity claims and provides quality customer service.
• Evaluates liability and damages, and communicates coverage analysis to insureds.
• Negotiates and resolves claims with insureds or their attorneys.
• Manages litigation strategy and direction with counsel to achieve effective resolutions.
• Maintains claim files and adheres to quality standards and procedures.
