Job summary

Farm Family in Omaha, NE seeks a highly capable Claims Specialist to join our team in-office. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle property claims, coordinating with customers, brokers, and counsel while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

We value exceptional client service, decisive judgment, and collaboration across departments. The role reports to a manager in New York and requires on-site presence five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; can substitute with insurance designations or four additional years of related experience
• Minimum of one year experience adjudicating claims
• Must obtain necessary state licenses and maintain CE requirements as needed

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate moderate to serious first-party property/physical damage claims within authority limits
• Investigate claims promptly, interview involved parties, determine facts of loss
• Analyze forms, policies, endorsements and instructions to determine coverage
• Manage reserves and timelines to align with policy and company practice
• Negotiate settlements with customers and counsel; keep stakeholders informed with clear reporting
