Qualifications

• Proofread complex legal documents with Chicago Manual, Bluebook, and California Style Manual.
• Bachelor's in English/Journalism or 1 year of legal experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, expert English grammar and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Proofread complex legal documents for consistency, spelling, dictation, syntax, punctuation, and grammar.
• Compare documents word-for-word against originals for accuracy.
• Review cross-references and defined terms for accuracy; review Table of Authorities for style.
• Check handwritten revisions against working draft to ensure all corrections are made.
• Conduct checks for format, text accuracy, and statistical data.
• Ensure content is accurate, clear, complete and logically organized.
• Use proofreading marks to note corrections.
• Follow established policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
