RR Donnelley is seeking a meticulous editor to polish complex legal documents in a 3rd shift onsite in Phoenix. If you excel at editing, writing, and English literature, this role fits your passion for precise language.

Responsibilities include proofreading to Chicago Manual of Style, Bluebook, and California Style Manual, comparing documents to originals, and ensuring logical organization.

The position requires a high school diploma or higher, and is fully onsite with a 10:00 PM–6:30 AM schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in English/Journalism or 1 year of legal experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style, AP Style, The Blue Book, and California Style Manual.
• Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and other core applications preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines for complex legal document markups.

Responsibilities

• Proofread complex legal documents to ensure consistency, spelling, dictation, syntax, punctuation, and grammar using appropriate style guides.
• Compare documents word-for-word against originals to ensure accurate conversion.
• Review cross-references and defined terms for accuracy; review Table of Authorities for accuracy and style.
• Check handwritten revisions/electronic redlines against working drafts to ensure corrections are made.
• Conduct checks for format, text accuracy, and statistical data.
• Ensure content is clear, complete, and logically organized.
• Use proofreading marks to note corrections.
• Follow policies and procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.
