Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks a Senior Lead Project Engineer to drive technical execution for Battery Energy Storage Systems and renewable integration. You will lead design, engineering, and delivery from concept through commissioning across grid-scale and data center applications.

You will define control narratives, collaborate with supply chain, and guide teams to deliver compliant, high-impact solutions for the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years in power systems, energy storage, or power electronics.
• Master’s degree in engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SCADA systems and automation protocols (Modbus, DNP).
• Strong technical aptitude in electrical engineering and industrial software.
• Familiarity with renewable and thermal generation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of BESS and renewable energy projects with project management.
• Review and approve design deliverables and project documentation.
• Define control system narratives and SCADA configurations for energy applications.
• Support proposal development and respond to RFIs and RFPs.
• Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate and approve technical solutions.
• Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Interface with customers to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
• Share technical knowledge and support internal training and testing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
