Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Lead Engineer for our Grid & Power Quality Solutions team in North America. You will act as the technical leader across electrical, mechanical, and control disciplines, overseeing engineering from proposal through commissioning on multimillion-dollar EPC projects.

The role requires a PE license (preferred), 6+ years in engineering/leadership, and strong experience with transmission-level HV systems. Hybrid work in Raleigh area with travel expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical.
• 6+ years in engineering, project engineering, or technical leadership.
• Experience with transmission-level high-voltage systems (69kV+).
• Experience with large-scale EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, studies.
• Own the complete engineering scope throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, stakeholders.
• Drive engineering execution to meet schedules, budgets, quality, safety.
• Support proposal development with innovative technical solutions.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership during installation, commissioning, startup.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.
