Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks a Power Lead Engineer to guide the full lifecycle of power system design, from concept to commissioning. You will work across distribution, generation, and control systems on complex projects to deliver reliable, safe power infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
8+ years in power systems engineering with at least 3 years in lead or senior roles.
Experience designing and implementing complex power distribution, generation, and control systems.
Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or PSS/E.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC; PLC/SCADA experience.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end power system design, testing, and commissioning.
Develop specifications, schematics, and layouts for power distribution, generation, and control systems.
Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective relay coordination studies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate power solutions across projects.
Provide technical guidance and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
