Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Lead AI Finance Technology Engineer to be the first dedicated AI engineer in our Finance Technology team. You will shape AI-first Finance architecture, collaborate across Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and IT, and own ERP integrations to enable AI-powered workflows and copilots.

This leadership role drives design, governance, and scalable AI solutions across our back-office stack, partnering with Internal Audit, Security, Legal, and Global IT to ensure compliant,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of engineering or data engineering experience, with 2+ years building AI/ML or LLM-powered solutions.
• Experience integrating with enterprise Financial SaaS systems (NetSuite, Zip, Zone Advanced Billing, Avalara/Vertex).
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable technical solutions for Finance.
• Strong experience with React, JSON, Python, SQL and modern APIs.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI practices, privacy and security in AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Reimagine core Finance workflows through an AI-first lens (accounting, procurement, revenue, close cycles).
• Design and build AI-powered workflows, copilots, and agents that automate Finance processes.
• Architect and implement systems integrating NetSuite, Zip, Zone Advanced Billing, Avalara/Vertex and other SaaS.
• Establish best practices for prompt engineering, LLM design, testing and observability.
• Enable AI use cases that drive faster execution and better decision-making for Finance teams.
• Partner with Finance leadership to define scalable AI strategies and governance.
