Job summary

DEPT OF PARKS & RECREATION in New York City seeks a Community Coordinator to support Capital Division projects within the Landscape Architecture Program. You will assist with design/construction oversight, track schedules, manage reporting, and liaise across divisions to ensure timely progress.

The role requires a baccalaureate degree with experience (or equivalent) plus strong communication and MS Office skills. Residency rules apply; full-time, on-site work at Olmsted Center, Queens.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and two years of related experience; or a high school diploma and six years of related experience; or an equivalent combination.
• Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication and data analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Capital Division design/construction project management for Landscape Architecture.
• Track project schedules from funding inception through close-out.
• Manage reporting and tracking documents for program management.
• Monitor Unifier for tasks and notify managers of deficiencies and prepare reports.
• Liaise with internal divisions and attend meetings; take notes and follow-up.
• Monitor project funding with budget staff and financial systems; address shortfalls.
• Prepare Certificate to Proceed (CP) packages for submittal to NYC OMB as needed.
• Support Agency initiatives and help advance program goals and metrics.
