Job summary

NYS Office of General Services is seeking a Landscape Architect to assist in design and project management for complex building projects. You will prepare drawings, specs and estimates under licensed staff, coordinate with disciplines, and help manage schedules and documentation.

The role supports design development, construction administration, and supervision of junior staff, with collaborative work across stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of LARE Sections 1 & 2 and one year of related landscape development experience.
• Experience planning and designing landscape development and site improvements, overseeing construction and maintenance.
• Current NYS employee transfer eligibility may apply under Civil Service rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape architecture design and project management for complex building plans.
• Prepare landscape drawings, details, specs, estimates, and studies under licensed staff.
• Coordinate design drawings and related specifications with other disciplines.
• Assist in scheduling projects according to workload and design schedules.
• Review reports, drawings, specs, and cost estimates by design consultants; supervise consultant work.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including meetings, correspondence, and progress.
• Collaborate with senior designers, project managers, and stakeholders to meet project goals.
• Assist in review of submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration during construction.
• Assist with supervision of junior staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.
