Job summary

Transdev in Boston, MA seeks a Labor Relations Manager to support the General Manager and HR on labor relations initiatives for the Boston Public Schools contract. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Safety and HR, and coordinate with outside counsel to ensure consistent contract language.

The role carries a salary of $86,000 to $100,000 per year with standard benefits and a focus on labor relations strategy, data preparation for hearings, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, law, or a related field.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
• Two years of experience handling labor relations, HR, legal, or business affairs in a unionized environment.
• Knowledge of labor relations theories, principles, practices and techniques.
• Ability to negotiate and de-escalate effectively.
• Knowledge of wage and hour, FLSA, NLRA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the labor relations program for the property with the General Manager.
• Prepare data for grievance hearings, arbitration, and bargaining negotiations.
• Interpret collective bargaining agreements to protect employee and company interests.
• Manage grievance processes and respond to complaints and arbitrations.
• Coordinate labor meetings, hearings, and sessions.
• Attend grievance hearings and bargaining sessions as needed.
• Maintain grievance logs and ensure deadlines are met.
• Develop labor relations strategies for the Boston Public Schools property.
