Job summary

Accenture seeks a Senior Ontologist and Knowledge Architecture Lead to own the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise knowledge graph initiatives. You will drive semantic modeling strategy, governance frameworks, and the technical direction of a cross-functional team spanning business, data engineering, and AI/ML disciplines.

You will collaborate with NLP/AI teams to develop ontology-guided pipelines for information extraction from unstructured sources, and you will shape integration

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years hands-on ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a closely related semantic discipline.
• Minimum 12 years delivering production-grade domain ontologies in complex enterprise or large-scale consulting environments.
• Minimum 12 years in a lead or architect-level role with responsibility for standards, team development, and roadmap ownership.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or PhD) in Information Science, Computer Science, Library Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ontology lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and stewardship.
• Define enterprise ontology architecture, URI strategy, versioning, and alignment with upper ontologies.
• Lead mapping of relational data into semantic frameworks and oversee hydration pipelines.
• Establish and enforce ontology governance standards, quality gates, and deprecation policies.
• Lead SME workshops and align business and technical stakeholders on ontology concepts.
• Partner with NLP/AI teams to develop ontology-guided pipelines and feature engineering.
