Job summary

NinjaOne in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement scalable solutions for our IT Operations platform. You will contribute to Java and Kotlin services, write clean code, and help deliver high‑quality software that our customers love.

You'll work on the Backup Engineering squad, tackling large‑scale data and distributed systems, mentoring teammates, and participating in architecture reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development for product applications.
• 6+ years designing highly scalable software systems.
• Strong understanding of API design and REST with frameworks like Jersey or Spring.
• Relational DB design and performance optimization at scale.
• Experience with distributed architectures, messaging (RabbitMQ/SQS/SNS), and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale Java/Kotlin software and maintain quality standards.
• Commit code and ship products in a startup‑like environment with scale.
• Debug and profile production Java services using tools like New Relic.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas and queries for performance.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and participate in architecture discussions.
• Document system architecture and drive cross‑team collaboration.
