Job summary

NinjaOne, a leading Unified IT Operations Platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement scalable Java/Kotlin services that run across millions of endpoints. You will contribute to our IT Operations product suite, writing clean, high‑quality code while optimizing performance to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience; strong Kotlin skills.
• 6+ years designing and operating highly scalable software systems.
• Deep understanding of OOP design principles and high-performance data structures.
• Knowledge of REST service development using Jersey or Spring; API best practices.
• Relational database design, development, and performance optimization at scale.
• Experience with messaging, caching, and distributed systems (RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS; Redis).
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across distributed systems.
• Strong Linux scripting, Docker and Kubernetes familiarity for deploying scalable workloads.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale software applications with Java and Kotlin.
• Commit code and ship products, applying enterprise patterns in a startup environment.
• Debug and profile production Java services; identify performance bottlenecks.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas for scale.
• Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Document system architecture and operational procedures for knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate across backend, infrastructure, and product teams to improve reliability.
