Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Backup Engineering team, building scalable IT Operations solutions used by 40,000+ customers. You will design and implement high-quality software across server and cloud components, with a focus on performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes mentoring, code reviews, documentation, and cross-team collaboration in a hybrid/remote-friendly setting. A strong foundation in Java, Kotlin, and scalable architectures is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience for product applications; Kotlin is a plus.
• 6+ years designing and operating highly scalable software systems.
• Strong knowledge of API design, REST services, and relational databases.
• Experience with client-server architectures, messaging systems (RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS).
• Proficient Linux/scripting skills; containerization and orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, enterprise-grade software using Java, Kotlin, C++, and Go.
• Commit code and ship products; implement design patterns for enterprise challenges.
• Debug, profile and optimize production Java services with tools like New Relic.
