Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Backup Engineering team, designing scalable solutions for IT Operations. You’ll own enterprise-level software across the Server/Endpoint/SaaS backup domains, shipping high-quality code and driving platform reliability for 40,000+ customers worldwide.

You’ll work in a hybrid remote model in the United States, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, scalability, and user experience while mentoring peers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience.
• 6+ years designing and operating highly scalable software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable Java and Kotlin software for IT Operations platform.
• Commit code and ship products in a startup-style environment.
• Debug and profile production Java services using monitoring tools.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas for performance at scale.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and influence technical decisions.
• Document system architecture and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with backend, infra, and product teams on platform improvements.
• Support cross-team reliability and long-term platform development.
